Belfast Giants retired head coach Adam Keefe’s 47 jersey on Sunday night at a special testimonial event at the SSE Arena.
Celebrating his 14 years with the team, the testimonial was held in front of Keefe’s family and friends, including New Jersey Devils head coach brother Sheldon.
The testimonial saw a round-robin tournament held between former team-mates and players that Keefe has coached split into four teams named after Keefe’s former teams. Current Giants Mark Cooper, David Goodwin, Ben Lake and Jackson Whistle all featured, while fellow retired jerseys Rob Stewart, Colin Shields and Graeme Walton also took part, with Todd Kelman and Shane Johnson taking their place as coaches alongside Sheldon Keefe.
Keefe joined the Giants in 2011 and won two Elite League titles with the team as a player. Behind the bench, he has delivered 10 trophies in seven seasons as coach.
