Kings interested in Kyle Kuzma?

League sources maintain Washington has been holding out for two first-round picks for Kyle Kuzma, though team sources indicate that is somewhat overblown. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. The Sacramento Kings have coveted Kuzma for some time. The Sacramento Kings have coveted Kuzma for some time. They had a deal done for him in 2021 for Hield while he was with the Lakers only to see L.A. pivot and then deal Kuzma to Washington in the multi-team trade that sent Westbrook to the Lakers. Sacramento had interest in signing Kuzma this summer as an unrestricted free agent before he re-signed in D.C. And the Kings have been a bit off-kilter for large parts of this season.

On the trade front, Kyle Kuzma, Tyus Jones, Daniel Gafford, Delon Wright, and Landry Shamet are among the Wizards who’ve drawn exploratory trade interest. Rookie Bilal Coulibaly is a player the franchise views as a core member of the future. -via HoopsHype / January 31, 2024
Kyle Kuzma said the team has benefitted in recent days from Keefe’s attention to detail — and also from knowing that their poor play led to Wes Unseld Jr. losing his coaching job. “It’s like more of a wake-up call than anything: understanding that when a change happens, there’s a reason why it changed,” Kuzma said. “I think everybody is coming together and trying to finish the year off strong. I think you guys (in the media) are seeing it just with the togetherness and just how we’re competing on a night-to-night basis the past three games.” -via The Athletic / January 30, 2024
The Utah Jazz snapped their three-game losing streak with a blowout 123-108 victory over the Washington Wizards. Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 29 points while John Collins added a 22-point, 16-rebound double-double. The Wizards were led by Kyle Kuzma who scored 26 points. -via KSL Sports / January 25, 2024
