Stockton Kings head coach Lindsey Harding is leaving Stockton to join JJ Redick’s staff with the Los Angeles Lakers as an assistant coach, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. This is a great opportunity for Harding, and well-deserved promotion.

Harding had a great season with Stockton last year, earning G League Coach Of The Year honors after leading the Kings to a 24-10 record and a first-place finish in the Western Conference. Harding had also been a candidate for the Charlotte Hornets head coaching job this offseason. Harding had been on the Sacramento Kings coaching staff as a player development coach prior to being promoted to the head coach for Stockton. In all, Harding spent just under a year with Stockton.
We’ll keep an eye on the Stockton vacancy in the weeks to come, as the Kings have now had several departures from Mike Brown’s staff this summer. Jordi Fernandez was hired as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, and has taken Deividas Dulkys and Dutch Gaitley with him to Brooklyn. So far, the Kings have not announced any additions to the staff.
We wish Coach Harding personal success while also rooting against the Lakers. Congratulations!
