6-foot-6 defenseman Jimmy Dodig signed with the Coquitlam Express (BCHL) for next season. Dodig is a Merrimack recruit from Minnesota, where he was a captain for Cretin-Derham Hall this past season.
In 28 games, Dodig had 27 points (4g-23a) and 48 PIMs. Before the high school season, he played for Team MAP in the Minnesota High School Elite League and he has made two appearances for Bismarck in the NAHL.
“Signing someone like Jimmy for next season was a priority of ours however with the current injuries to the backend, bringing him in right now was crucial,” Coquitlam GM Tali Campbell. “His presence on the backend will be noticed right away. He is a big, physically imposing defender that loves to play the body, block shots, and throw his weight around the ice.”
