Merrimack will play defending national champion Florida on November 21

The Merrimack men’s basketball team will make its second trip to Florida on November 21, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

This will mark Merrimack’s second trip to the O’Connell Center to take on the Gators. Florida beat Merrimack 77-57 on Dec. 5, 2023, but the Warriors led the game 31-30 at halftime.

Samba Diallo (14 points), Jordan Derkack (14 points), and Budd Clark (11 points) were all in double figures for the Warriors in that game.

The Gators are coming off a 36-4 season, which saw them capture the 2025 national championship.

From CBS Sports:

Looking to defend its national championship, the Gators will have a fairly new rotation after seeing three seniors and three transfers leave the program but have rebuilt strongly with three transfer guards in Xaivian Lee, Boogie Fland and AJ Brown.

Florida’s roster remains unfinished, though, as the Gators are still waiting on an NBA Draft decision from forward Alex Condon. Should he return, Condon would be one of two players alongside Thomas Haugh remaining from the 2023 roster that last played Merrimack.

We now know four non-conference games for the Warriors next season. Merrimack will spend Thanksgiving in Philadelphia as part of the 2025 Cathedral of College Basketball Classic. The tournament will also feature Penn, La Salle, and Hofstra.
