The New York Rangers kick off their second round series against the Carolina Hurricanes at MSG in a series that will be a wakeup call for both teams. The Blueshirts dispatched of the Washington Capitals with ease, and the Canes eliminated the New York Islanders in 5 games. Both were short series, but there were some clear concerns with both clubs.
This is going to be a back and forth series that will likely go the distance, but we could also see this end quickly with some very close games that just happen to swing one way. Carolina is everyone’s analytics darling and the Rangers are on everyone’s sh-t list for…reasons? All I know is there’s a ton of good bulletin board material for this club.
