Michaels scores in OT to send Western Michigan past Denver, into NCAA title game – College Hockey

ST. LOUIS — Owen Michaels scored his second goal of the game 26 seconds into the second overtime Thursday as Western Michigan defeated Denver 3-2 in the first Frozen Four semifinal at Enterprise Center.

Western Michigan took a 2-0 lead into the third period on second-period goals by Brian Kramer and Michaels but Denver got two in the third. Aidan Thompson cut the deficit to one and Jared Wright tied it with 2:39 remaining.
