NFL sensation Myles Garrett seems to have officially kicked off his relationship with professional snowboarder Chloe Kim, a two-time Olympic gold medalist for the United States.
The Cleveland Browns’ star defensive end made an appearance at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Tokyo this week, arm-in-arm with Kim. The pair posed for photos together, looking every bit the romantic couple.
Neither Garrett nor Kim had previously been known to be in a relationship before their public debut as a couple. The two have been following each other on Instagram for quite some time, with Garrett ‘liking’ numerous posts of Kim over the past few months.
For the event, Garrett sported a blue suit with black pants, while Kim dazzled in a black dress. They appeared coordinated, with Kim looking up at him and smiling in one photo.
Kim, a back-to-back gold medalist, was born and raised in California. Her family originally hails from South Korea but moved to the United States before she was born.
Long considered a rising star in the halfpipe event, Kim clinched gold at both the 2018 and 2022 Olympics. She’s also pegged as the favorite to win at the upcoming games in Italy next year.
At just 25 years old, Kim has a promising future in the sport, having already secured victories at two different Olympic Games and boasting 15 first-place finishes at major events in her career.
Garrett, too, is at the pinnacle of his career, recently signing a massive contract extension this offseason that makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
He inked a four-year, $160 million contract, which means he’ll rake in $40 million per season to stay with the Browns, complete with a guaranteed $123.5 million and an eye-popping $21 million signing bonus.
DON’T MISS
The prospect of Garrett extending his tenure with the Browns seemed slim right after the season ended, especially when the star made a public plea for a trade.
Garrett’s patience had worn thin with the Browns’ inability to assemble a competitive roster during his eight-year stint, highlighted by a solitary playoff win in that period.
In a released statement, he expressed: “While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded away from the Cleveland Browns – Myles Garrett.”
Nonetheless, a few weeks down the line, the Browns’ substantial offer made him rethink his stance, leading to his signing of the landmark deal.
