The Rangers are going to try to right the ship tonight at MSG as the lowly San Jose Sharks come to town. The Sharks and Anaheim Ducks seem to be in a competition for last place in the Pacific Division. Both teams are bad, and San Jose in particular can’t seem to score outside. But given how the Rangers have played defense recently, that may not matter much.
Tonight is a revenge game for Barclay Goodrow, who rejected a trade to San Jose before being placed on waivers and getting claimed by San Jose. Mike Grier did Chris Drury a solid on that one, but it created some bad blood. To be fair, if Goodrow wasn’t making $3.6 million, he would likely still be a Ranger. But without him, the fourth line is actually good this year. Go figure.
