The Rangers have by far their biggest game of the year, and of course it’s an afternoon game away from the safe confines of MSG. The Ottawa Senators made one of the biggest trades yesterday, swapping oft-injured Josh Norris for the talented but enigmatic Dylan Cozens. The trade added more offensive firepower, but on paper the Rangers are still a better team. The Blueshirts’ problem has been execution, which has been better of late.
Today will be the debut of Carson Soucy in Rangers blue, their big deadline add last night. Chris Kreider may also return to the lineup, but that may be a game time decision. The Rangers have one of the toughest remaining schedules and need to go roughly 15-5 to secure a playoff spot. That means beating good teams.
