NY Rangers lines tonight: Kaliyev in, Berard out

[ad_1]

Arthur Kaliyev draws into the NY Rangers lines tonight, subbing in for Brett Berard as the third line right wing. Kaliyev hasn’t played since February 23 as the Rangers experimented with Mika Zibanejad at wing. With that experiment seemingly sticking, there’s one less wing spot, thus the three man rotation with Berard, Kaliyev, and Juuso Parssinen. It’s frustrating to see three young kids in a rotation, but such is Rangers hockey.

The three man rotation at 3RW is mostly because of the need at center in the bottom six. With Zibanejad shifting and sticking at wing, the Rangers need a center, and Jonny Brodzinski is the guy Peter Laviolette is most comfortable with. As long as Parssinen, who can play center, is at the wing, Brodzinski will draw in and we will have this rotation.

Make of that what you will.
