Live From the Blue Seats is back as Producer JL discusses Gabe Perreault’s debut, and how it’s time for the Rangers to step up and act like they want it over the next two weeks. Perreault debuted with the Rangers in their clunky overtime win over Minnesota, playing top-six minutes with JT Miller and Alexis Lafreniere while getting a sprinkling of powerplay time here and there. Perreault looked solid offensively if a little lost defensively, but who on the Rangers isn’t lost defensively this season?
The win over Minnesota was huge, but Montreal keeps rolling with big wins over Florida and Boston. The Rangers hold the tiebreaker, but it doesn’t mean much unless the Blueshirts actually catch the Habs in points. That means a few unexpected losses by the Habs or a few unexpected wins by the Rangers, starting today against the Devils.
