The Orlando Magic are going back to the future as they enter a new era.
Orlando’s NBA franchise conjured up some aesthetic magic on Tuesday.

The Orlando Magic unveiled a new yet familiar identity as it officially heads into an era headlined by homegrown stars Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. The new look will be somewhat familiar to Central Florida, as it partly resembles the Magic’s original showcases from their 1989 debut through the new century, bringing back prominent pinstripes and a lighter shade of blue. Of note, the team seems to use black and white as secondary colors as opposed to silver from the original uniforms.
“Based on fan feedback, the new logo was a collaboration and really a labor of love keeping in mind the affinity our fans have for our brand identity,” Magic executive vice president of marketing and social responsibility Shelly Wilkes said in a team statement. “This logo and new uniforms signify the beginning of a new era of excellence for the Magic while paying homage to the past. We are excited to build upon our rich history with a modernized version of the uniform and logo that our fan base cherishes.”
The Magic’s new primary emblem is a roundel featuring an updated version of the team’s alternate logo from its 1990s heyday, a streaking ball trailed by stars. Three new jerseys, modeled by Banchero, Wagner, and Jalen Suggs were likewise unveiled, each serving as modernized version of the Magic’s retro pinstriped look originally made famous by Penny Hardaway and Shaquille O’Neal.

Suggs and Wagner respectively wore the white and light blue editions while Banchero wore an alternate that appears to be a combo of both. A new wordmark depicting both the city and nickname was showcased on each uniform.
Orlando is one of two teams to somewhat update its identity for the 2025-26 NBA season, as the Utah Jazz likewise went back to the future with an updated aesthetic that likewise references their turn-of-the-century exploits.
On the floor, the Orlando Magic (41-41) returned to the NBA Playoffs despite enduring lengthy injury absences throughout the celebration of its 35th anniversary, generating its first case of consecutive postseason showings since 2019-20.
Armed with new aesthetics, the Magic will look to end one of the more dire streaks on the NBA ledgers, as they’ve gone 15 years without winning a playoff series. That’s the longest in franchise history and fourth-longest active drought in the Association (behind Charlotte, Sacramento, and Detroit).
