Pathless Woods Brings Cozy Ancient Chinese-Inspired Survival to Steam Early Access Next Month

Developer AniYa Games Studio has announced the Early Access release date for the ancient China-inspired open-world survival crafter Pathless Woods.

The game, which blends cozy gameplay with a setting inspired by China’s heritage, will officially launch on Steam via Early Access on April 3rd. If you’re a fan of games like Palia or My Time at Sandrock, then this looks like the perfect digestif.

You’ll be able to tackle Pathless Woods‘ challenges either solo or with up to three friends, and those challenges include taking on wild creatures, tackling the elements, and constructing structures to keep you and your buddies safe.

Pathless Woods will offer ancient China-inspired delights to survival fans in early April.

As well as wild animals and monsters, you’ll also have to contend with the sinister Jaer cult, which is out to ruin your good time. Pathless Woods isn’t entirely cozy, then, but if you like a little spice with your sugar, this looks like the perfect game to try.

According to AniYa, the Early Access build of Pathless Woods will feature survival, building and farming, and a main quest, as well as several creatures and monsters. A boss fight will also be available in this early build.

As the game progresses through its Early Access development phase, “more and better” content will be introduced, and AniYa will be working to fix any bugs and issues that crop up during development as well. The Early Access period is scheduled to last for around a year.

It’s fair to say that Pathless Woods is launching into a pretty crowded market, but its ancient Chinese setting and quaint art style should hopefully do a lot to set it apart from its peers.

Pathless Woods launches on April 3rd for PC via Steam Early Access. Stay tuned for more.
