If you weren’t already overloaded with MMO patches, new games, and Christmas events, here’s one more: Pax Dei is dropping its massive update, dubbed Verse 2: Market Square, tomorrow on December 13th. In fact, if you’re in the US, the patch will likely be in place before you even wake up, as servers are expected to return around 6 a.m. EST on Friday. As a bonus, there’s no wipe planned.
At the heart of the release is the dynamic market and gold economy system – no surprise if you’ve been following the evolution of this sandbox MMORPG these last few months.
“Verse 2 will introduce gold coins, which will serve as the universal currency for trade. You will earn gold coins as loot from NPCs and can use them to buy items from other players via a new type of crafter, the market stall. You will be able to set up bustling trade hubs, explore markets owned by other players, and utilize quick filtering to navigate them with ease. Additionally, you will have customizable trading permissions, allowing you to tailor your experience to fit your community or clan.”
Do note that the Grace feature – basically a way to turn gold into spiritual energy – has been bumped off until January-ish.
The update also tweaks weapon balance, targeting logic, resource visibility and quality, multiple crafting systems, localization for French and German, the Discord integration, and YOUR FACE. OK, not really, but it does offer some new customization options for beards and mustaches.
