Penta Will Not Be on WWE 2K25’s Initial Roster

The roster is always one of the biggest selling points in a WWE-licensed game. In order for a game to appeal to as many wrestling fans as possible, having as close to a full and complete roster consisting of Superstars both new and old is imperative. However, not everyone can be featured, even when it comes to some current WWE stars. And unfortunately, it seems that Penta is a casualty of that system in WWE 2K25.

Over the past few weeks, 2K has slowly revealed its full roster along with each Superstar’s ratings for WWE 2K25. But many eagle-eyed WWE fans have noticed that Penta — one of the hottest stars in the modern WWE landscape — has been missing from those reveals. Unfortunately, this was to be expected as Penta made his debut in early January. And with WWE 2K25 being released in March, including him was always going to be a tough task.

In order for a WWE wrestler to be included in a WWE 2K game, they typically have to be a part of its roster by a certain point in the year. When the series was still being released in the late fall, this cutoff was generally considered to be around WrestleMania season. But since WWE 2K has transitioned to being a Q1 release, this cutoff seems to be the summer.

Not having Penta as part of the base WWE 2K25 title is certainly a bummer. But it’s not unprecedented, nor is it cause for too much concern.

In one of the most shocking moments in wrestling history, CM Punk returned to WWE in November 2023. Unfortunately, he was not included in WWE 2K24 on release. Instead, he was later made available through a DLC pack that came out early in the game’s cycle.

It’s likely that Penta will be given the same treatment this year as he is not only one of the more popular wrestlers on the roster right now, but an incredible merch mover as well. It’s really only a matter of when he’ll be made available.
