2023-2024 MONTH-BY-MONTH RECAP AND TREND ANALYSIS

The following is a compilation of the month-by-month prospect reports for Pierrick Dube for the 2023-2024 season. All monthly prospect reports can be accessed from our Prospects” page in the top menu.

OCTOBER

The Frenchman has recorded a point in five of Hershey’s six wins. Skating most of the season with Hendrix Lapierre and Ivan Miroshnichenko, Dube completes the dynamic third line. The winger is fast, and his skating may be his biggest asset. The Lyon, France native is not just a speedster. He is a skilled player.

Dube earned the secondary assist on the first Hershey goal of the season against Cleveland on October 15 and then scored his first goal as a Bear on the power play in the second period. His next two points were helpers on Miroshnichenko goals. Dube posted his second multi-point game of the campaign on October 28 against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. He one-timed a feed from Joe Snively past Cal Peterson for a power-play goal with 1:32 remaining in the first period. The goal held up as the game-winner as the Bears prevailed 4-0. Dube then put home a rebound after Miroshnichenko was stopped after driving to the net in the third. He also registered an assist on October 29.

NOVEMBER

The speedy Frenchman has proven to be a key player for the chocolate and white. Simply put, when Dube records a point, the Bears win. Through the first two months of the season,

Hershey is 10-0 when the winger gets on the scoresheet. The Lyon, France native potted a team-best five goals in November. Dube netted the game-winner with 3:24 left in the third against Iowa on November 25. It was the result of a hard-working shift from the winger. Dube poked the puck away from Gavin Hain in the neutral zone and put the biscuit into the offensive end. After Dakota Mermis controlled the puck and tried to move it out of the zone, Dube again stole the puck. Later in the sequence, Logan Day fired a low shot towards the goal. Stationed at the inside edge of the right circle, Dube redirected Day’s shot by the glove of Jesper Wallstedt.

DECEMBER

Dube lit the lamp consistently in December. The speedy winger found the back of the net nine times in 14 games. Two of his goals were game-winning goals. On December 17, Dube netted the lone goal in a 1-0 win over the Springfield Thunderbirds. He took a feed from Aaron Ness and sped down the right wing. Dube let a slap shot go from the right circle that powered its way through the arm of Malcolm Subban. The other deciding tally was a third-period marker against Providence on December 23. He also had the lone conversion in the shootout in a triumph over the Thunderbirds on December 22.

JANUARY

The Lyon, France native continues to produce for the Bears. Dube followed up a nine-goal December by scoring six times in January, tied for the most on Hershey. The speedy winger also dished out four assists to finish the month with a team-best 10 points. Dube started the month strongly, recording a three-point outing against Charlotte on January 3. The night began with a secondary helper on Mike Vecchione’s first-period power play marker. He then wired a shot over the blocker of Spencer Knight in the second frame for Hershey’s third goal. Dube then tallied again in an unconventional way when he missed a shot over the top of the net, but the puck caromed off the glass and back over the net. The biscuit hit Knight and went in. He went scoreless in his next four contests but finished the month strongly. Dube snapped his streak with a first-period power-play tally on January 19. The Frenchman posted his second multi-point game of the month with a primary assist and an empty net goal in a 4-1 over Springfield on January 24. Dube concluded the month with a three-point effort in Allentown versus the Phantoms.

FEBRUARY

February was a quiet month offensively for the French winger. Dube tallied once in the month and added a single helper. He earned his first-ever recall to the National Hockey League (NHL) late in the month. The speedy winger made his NHL debut in Florida on February 24 and skated in three contests for the Capitals but was held without a point in them. He registered three shots and was a plus-one. Dube has amassed 34 points in 50 games for the chocolate and white this season.

MARCH

Dube was mostly a facilitator in March. Dube compiled a team-high six assists in the month and tied for the most points by a Bear with eight. The speedy winger recorded a two-assist game in Charlotte on March 9. He picked up secondary helpers on first-period goals by Matthew Phillips and Jimmy Huntington. The native of Lyon, France registered another two-point game against Syracuse on March 19. Dube wired a wrist shot through traffic from the top of the left circle in the second period to tie the game at one. Later in the stanza, the Frenchman picked up the primary apple on Jimmy Huntington’s power play goal. His other goal of the month came in Cleveland on March 22. He tapped home an Aaron Ness feed on the back door to give Hershey a 2-1 advantage in the first period.

APRIL

On April 2, Dube scored the team’s only goal in a 1-0 victory against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. His goal came at 6:34 in the first period. During a 7-2 win against the Iowa Wild, Dube recorded three assists. He had the primary assist on Ethen Frank’s goal at 4:20 in the first period which opened the scoring. He also assists on goals by Frank during the second period and a Mike Vecchione goal early in the third period. On April 6, also against the Iowa Wild, he had the secondary assists on a goal by Chase Priskie at 13:05 into the first period which tied the game at 1-1 in a game the Bears ultimately won in a 3-2 shootout. On April 17, he scored the Bears’ fourth goal at 10:28 into the third period, a goal proving to be the game-winner in a 4-3 win against the Charlotte Checkers. During April, he played in 7 games, scoring 2 goals and recording 7 assists.

He assisted on Ivan Miroshnichenko’s goal at 2:26 into the second period, the goal that proved to be the game winner. He did not record any points in the Bears’ second-round series against the Hartford Wolf Pack.

PLAYER FORECAST

Dube has exhibited NHL-level skills during the 2023-24 season with the Bears and will likely battle for a wing spot or the 13th forward spot when camp begins. He’s on a two-way deal next season, so he may start in Hershey but will most likely see games with the Capitals this coming season.
