The Nashville Predators have signed the former Tampa Bay Lightning defender for two years at an AAV of $2.75M. This brings the number of similarly-named players acquired for the blueline this week to two, after yesterday’s signing of Nicolas Hague.
Perbix, who just turned 27, scored 19 points (6G/13A) in a third-pair role for the Bolts last season. The team struggled with puck control while he was paired with his usual defense partner, Emil Lilleberg. However, he played better with other defense partners; he also had some bad puck luck during the middle of the season.
It’s a small deal, but one with potential upside and very little downside.
