The NY Rangers have returned Brennan Othmann to the Hartford Wolf Pack. Othmann was recalled yesterday morning as a precaution, as both Artemi Panarin and Jimmy Vesey were game time decisions. As we know, both played and Othmann was a healthy scratch. But he did get another day of NHL pay, which is a nice little bonus for the kid.
As a reminder, the Rangers don’t need to bank cap space anymore. They have over $5 million in LTIR space due to Blake Wheeler and Filip Chytil. Until they make their trade deadline moves to strengthen the forward depth, they can move guys around relatively freely.
