Report: Indiana reaches out to Florida Atlantic transfer big man Baba Miller – Inside the Hall


One of the top available frontcourt players in the transfer portal is hearing from the IU basketball coaching staff.

Florida Atlantic transfer big man Baba Miller told Sam Keyser on Tuesday that IU is one of several schools he’s hearing from since entering the portal.

In addition to the contact from IU, Miller told Keyser he’s also heard from Louisville, Cincinnati, Memphis, UConn, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Ohio State, BYU, Kansas State, Virginia, Ole Miss, California, UNLV, Seton Hall, New Mexico and South Florida.

A native of Mallorca, Spain, the 6-foot-11, 215-pound Miller began his career at Florida State, where he spent two seasons before transferring to Florida Atlantic.

Last season, Miller averaged 11.3 points, seven rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 blocked shots in 30 minutes per game for the Owls. He shot 48.6 percent from the field and 64.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Miller played 34 games at Florida Atlantic, which finished 18-16. He ranked sixth in the American Athletic Conference in block percentage (5.9) and 16th in defensive rebounding percentage (18.1).

He was named second-team All-AAC, had two 20-point games, six double-doubles and scored in double figures 22 times. He also had nine games with at least three blocked shots.

Over 82 career games at Florida Atlantic and Florida State, including 68 starts, Miller has averaged 8.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocked shots in 25.5 minutes per game.

He has a career field goal percentage of 47.1 percent and is 70-for-224 (31.3 percent) on 3s over three seasons.

Miller has one season of eligibility remaining.
