Report: Kevin Huerter to undergo surgery, will be out remainder of the season

Sacramento Kings shooting guard Kevin Huerter will miss the remainder of the season, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Woj cites his source as being Huerter’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, and says Huerter will undergo surgery to repair his torn labrum.

This was the fear and the expectation when it was announced that Huerter’s injury was not just a dislocation, but also included the labrum tear. A dislocation alone could have been enough to take Huerter out for the year (look no further than how long Julius Randle has been out), but the tear made it all but a certainty.

The good news from the report is the statement that Huerter is expected to make a full recovery for next season.

The Kings have not provided an additional update since March 21st. We will update as appropriate if anything further is announced.

We send our best wishes to Kevin. Get better soon.
