The Rangers season may be a lost cause at this point, especially after Montreal’s surprising win over Florida last night, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have nice things. Sam and JD will reunite one more time on April 9 against the Flyers to call the game on TNT. John Davidson, currently with the Columbus Blue Jackets, will see his friend off to retirement in the best way possible and giving all of us what we want: One more game of Sam and JD.
Based on the comments, it sounds like many are like me, who grew up with Sam and JD in the booth. Joe Micheletti has been fine, but he’s not JD. This is the best way to send off Sam Rosen as the Rangers wrap up this season.
All I want is one “It’s a powerplay goal!” followed by an “Oh baby!”
It’s not much to ask, right?
