Sci-fi point-and-click adventure Monolith now has a locked-in release date

  • Sci-fi point-and-click adventure game Monolith is coming to mobile
  • And now we have a confirmed release date of August 1st
  • Play as stranded astronaut Tessa Carter and find your way home

Hard to believe we’re already coming to the end of July, especially after we covered so much in the first six months of the year. But that means it’s always good to look back and check in on some of those games, and we’re pleased to say that point-and-click sci-fi adventure game Monolith now has a concrete release date for August 1st!

While we had to translate the Facebook announcement to get the info, it does look as if the Steam launch on August 1st will coincide with the launch on the iOS App Store and Google Play.

And it’s worth a gander. Monolith is a point-and-click adventure, but not in the style of games like Monkey Island as so many do, rather this seems to follow the influence of Resident Evil or Still Life. You play as stranded astronaut Tessa Carter, who must navigate a world just as influenced by the story as it is by puzzles and obstacles you must overcome.

Monolithic fun?

While we can’t vouch for whether or not Monolith is any good, as we haven’t had the chance to play it, initial game trailers and whatnot do look quite fun. It’s also interesting to see the idea of a point-and-click and what it draws from slowly edging forward in time. Whereas most other games in that genre throwback to the aforementioned Monkey Island and others, Monolith seems to take a lot more inspiration from newer games.
