Sean Highkin: Asked Scoot Henderson today at practice if he’s ever (in AAU, G League, etc) experienced a road trip like the one the Blazers just had. “For sure. That was one of the biggest things I took away from Ignite. Learn how to lose, knowing why we’re losing and it’s all a part of the process. I’m young and I’m learning as well, but we’re young as a team. I’m not talking about age, I’m talking about togetherness. In my two years with Ignite, I learned that. And it was hard for me to learn that and take it, but it was something I had to learn. Knowing that I was going to be a top pick and was going to go to a team that wouldn’t be competing for a championship the [first] year. I learned at Ignite how to keep the competitive edge for myself. Learning how to take losses on the chin and keep the competitive edge and make sure I’m still locked in. Not laying down and not giving into it at all.”

Timeout #Suns.
Down 20-15 as Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons each have six.
#Blazers have many guys out, but Henderson and Simons are the two guys who usually have the ball in their hands to initiate the offense.
Beal 6 points, Durant 0 points (0-for-3), two assists. – 9:22 PM

Sean Highkin: Asked Gregg Popovich how much of Scoot he’s watched. “None. You check our record? You think I’m going to watch tape on him? He seems like a hell of a player. I’m just telling you the truth.” -via Twitter @highkin / December 29, 2023
With more than half of the season left to play, Trail Blazers guard and No. 3 overall pick Scoot Henderson still has his eyes set on the Wilt Chamberlain Trophy. “Trying to get Rookie of the Year, that’s still my goal,” Henderson told CBS Sports after the Blazers’ 126-106 loss to the Warriors on Saturday. “That’s still up in the air, I think.” -via CBSSports.com / December 29, 2023
