Silver Knights downed by Condors in OT, 5-4


The Silver Knights fell to the Bakersfield Condors in overtime, 5-4, on Friday evening. It marked their first overtime contest of the season.

HOW IT WENT DOWN

The Condors got on the board first at 6:30 in the first period as Griffith potted his 10th goal of the year.

But the Silver Knights were quick to battle back. Cal Burke evened the score at one just over a minute later, assisted by Gage Quinney and Robert Hägg.

Philp put Bakersfield back in front late in the period, with Griffith picking up a point on the play.

Grigori Denisenko tied the game on the power play with a minute to go in the first. Quinney earned his second point of the night, with Brendan Brisson also assisting on the play.

Savoie gave the Condors their third lead of the game at 9:55 in the middle frame.

The Silver Knights once again responded with a power play goal. Braeden Bowman’s goal marked his seventh point in as many games; he now stands third on the team in points. Jake Bischoff and former Condor Raphael Lavoie both earned assists. Henderson headed to the final frame tied at three.

Riley McKay gave Henderson its first lead of the evening late in the third period, potting Mitch McLain’s rebound to make it 4-3.

With 40 seconds remaining in regulation and the extra skater on for Bakersfield, Hamblin would net his first goal of the season to send the game to overtime.

Pederson netted the game-winner with 16 seconds left in OT to secure a 5-4 victory for the Condors.
