The Henderson Silver Knights fell to the San Jose Barracuda, 6-5, at Tech CU Arena on Sunday evening, their second of the series. Alexander Holtz netted four goals and Brendan Brisson notched three assists in the overtime loss.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Carlsson opened the scoring for San Jose early in the first period. Poturalski doubled their lead late in the frame.
Holtz scored his first of the evening on the power play with less than a minute remaining in the period. Brisson and Calen Addison assisted on the play.
The Barracuda responded with a power play goal of their own early in the second, Gushchin’s first of the evening.
Holtz scored three unanswered goals for the Silver Knights to give them a 4-3 lead. Kai Uchacz extended the lead to two with an unassisted goal at 15:11 in the third.
Gushchin found the back of the net twice with the extra skater on, completing the hat trick, to send the game to overtime.
Cardwell scored in OT to secure a 6-5 victory for the Barracuda.
