The Minnesota Timberwolves made a statement in Game 1, blowing out the Los Angeles Lakers 117-95 and knocking down a playoff franchise record 21 three-pointers.
Minnesota took control of the game in the second quarter and never let go. Jaden McDaniels led the team with 25 points, while Naz Reid and Anthony Edwards added 22 each.
Luka Doncic scored 37 points, but LeBron James and Austin Reaves had quiet performances with 19 and 16 points, respectively.

Is Lakers twitter not working tonight?! Been real quiet the last few hours 😆

Coach JJ Redick did a great job all season but he didn’t do a good job for Game 1. The Lakers stood around on offense, played too much one-on-one basketball, and he didn’t make any necessary adjustments.

Danger for the Lakers is if all you can do is play small they know what to expect on both ends. Great work from the Wolves.

Lakers got belt to ass today.
And it’s pretty simple.
If LeBron and AR are going to be this…it’s a quick series for the wolves

Minnesota isn’t gonna shoot lights out from deep all series, but 90 points just isn’t gonna cut it from the Lakers on the other end.

Ant 9 assists
Luka & Bron 4 assists
All assists came off drives not double teams.

thinking about the reaction on here when the lakers lost game 1 to the rockets in the bubble in 2020

No “JJ Redick saved my life” tweets on the TL? No comparing the Lakers record to previous years under Ham?
We took a worse roster to a WCF btw pic.twitter.com/AEC0sdubLm

Lakers crowd was louder during the bubble.
