Budgets vary among the 16 host cities — 11 of which are in the U.S. — based in part on the number of games being played in each market, but most are seeking to raise between $100 million and $150 million to cover the costs of hosting the matches, putting on FIFA-mandated fan festivals and creating impactful legacy programs.
