Spurs interested in Kristaps Porzingis

Another team we’ve heard with a level of Kristaps Porzingis interest: San Antonio. The Spurs, sources say, have held some exploratory talks about trading for the 7-foot-2 center. That would certainly be a fascinating outcome for Porziņģis if he were to land with the on-the-rise Spurs alongside the 7-foot-5 Victor Wembanyama.

With Jrue Holiday to the Blazers for Anfernee Simons and 2 seconds, the next Celtics trade candidates to monitor are Kristaps Porzingis (expiring $30.7 million) and Sam Hauser (4 years, $45 million). Derrick White has drawn trade interest, but it’d take a massive haul to get him. – 12:39 AM

As Monday night dribbled into Tuesday morning, I was cautioned that San Antonio, in the end, should probably be classified as an unlikely destination for Porziņģis, There has, however, been tangible noise about the Spurs looking at various big men with the No. 14 overall pick in Wednesday’s draft … provided that they keep that pick. There have even been rumbles that the Spurs hold interest in moving up in the lottery for a second turn, after the widely expected selection of Dylan Harper at No. 2 overall, to target size. -via marcstein.substack.com / June 24, 2025
The Bulls are not currently chasing Porziņģis, league sources say, although some rival teams have been openly wondering if they might. Chicago is known, at the very least, to be evaluating the overall state of its center rotation with Nikola Vučević, after a strong season, having been pursued as a trade target since last February’s in-season trade deadline and now, at 34, entering the final season of his contract at $21.5 million. -via marcstein.substack.com / June 24, 2025
