MLB The Show 24, one of the most anticipated sports games of 2024, has just announced a brand-new mode called Storylines Derek Jeter. This mode is part of the Storylines mode, which is where you can also find the Negro Leagues Season 2, which had a disappointing Feature Premiere.
As the name indicates, this mode is all about baseball legend Derek Jeter and lets players relive the biggest moments of his illustrious career.

Latest: Storylines Derek Jeter Feature Premiere was a letdown
The MLB The Show 24 Storylines Derek Feature Premiere is done and dusted, and similar to the Negro Leagues Season 2 one, it wasn’t fantastic. It pretty much just confirmed everything players were expecting from this mode, it’s the same as Negro Leagues Season 2, but it’s focused on the story of Derek Jeter.
The highest point of this Feature Premiere was the announcement that new legends are coming to the game. These legends are Andy Pettite, Paul O’Neill, and Bernie Williams, who all played for the New York Yankees.
It’s worth noting that, Players will be able to earn these legends and add them to their Diamond Dynasty squad.
The feature premiere provided valuable insight into how the mode was created and all the behind-the-scenes work. But in the end, no feature that really separates the Negro Leagues Season 2 and the Derek Jeter mode was revealed.
Fans wanted new features, or at least something unique that separated it from the other Storylines mode, and that didn’t happen. It was just another MLB The Show 24 Feature Premiere that disappointed the community.
That makes it two for two in disappointing Feature Premieres, and we are afraid of a potential strikeout if the next MLB The Show 24 Feature Premiere doesn’t reveal something exciting.
Relive one of the most historic careers in baseball history
The Storylines Derek Jeter mode is very similar to the Negro Leagues Season 2 one, as it also allows players to step into the shoes of a great player and relive his history.
Players will experience the moments that marked the Captain’s career, such as his first hit in the MLB, recreating the famous “Jeter Jump Throw” and reliving his 2000 Midsummer Classic masterpiece, where he became the first-ever Yankees All-Star Game MVP.
The Storylines Derek Jeter mode also includes some moments where players will control one of the “core four members”, which are Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettite.
Similar to what happens in the Negro Leagues Season 2 mode, after completing each moment players will earn exclusive rewards such as unique player items, uniforms, equipment and many others.
Players can even earn the cards of Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, Andy Pettite, and many other players, and add them to their Diamond Dynasty squad.
