USA Basketball announced today the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team coaching staffs. Leading the 2025 USA Women’s U19 National Team is Teri Moren (Indiana University), who will be assisted by Niele Ivey (University of Notre Dame) and Jose Fernandez (University of South Florida).

Moren, Ivey and Fernandez will lead the USA at the 2025 FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup in Brno, Czech Republic, from July 12-20. Last year, the trio guided the 2024 USA Women’s U18 National Team to the gold medal at the FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup in Bucaramanga, Colombia. The USA will look to capture their fourth straight gold medal and 11th overall in the competition since its inception in 1985.

“It is an honor to be leading the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s U19 National Team along with Coach Ivey and Coach Fernandez,” Moren said. “I am grateful to represent our country on the international stage and look forward to the opportunity to once again pursue a gold medal for our nation.”

Moren will assume her second head coaching position with USA Basketball after capturing gold as head coach last summer and as assistant coach at the 2023 FIBA Women’s U19 World Cup and 2022 FIBA U18 Women’s Americas Championship.

Moren recently concluded her 11th season as the head coach of the Hoosiers. The Indiana native is the program’s all-time winningest coach while leading them to seven NCAA Tournament appearances, three Sweet 16’s and an Elite Eight appearance along with 10-consecutive 20-win seasons. Moren is a two-time Big Ten Coach of the Year (2016, 2023) and was named the 2023 Associated Press National Coach of the Year.

Ivey is set to make her second USA Basketball assistant coaching appearance after holding the role with the 2024 U18 squad. She has coached five seasons for the Fighting Irish, accumulating a 117-38 record while leading the team to four consecutive Sweet 16 appearances. During the 2024-25 season, Notre Dame went 28-6 and earned a share of the ACC regular season title for the second time in three years, reaching No. 1 in the AP Poll for the first time in six seasons. The 2023 ACC Coach of the Year, Ivey previously served as an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2019-20 season and for Notre Dame from 2007 to 2019.

Fernandez returns to USA Basketball for his second assistant coaching stint after serving in the same role at the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup. Fernandez has amassed a 25-year head coaching career at South Florida with multiple accolades. He is the program’s all-time winningest coach, a two-time American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year (2018, 2021) and has led the Bulls to 10 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Coaching selections for the U19 Women’s National Team were made by the USA Basketball Women’s Junior National Team Committee. All selections were approved by the USA Basketball Board of Directors.
