Terry Bradshaw, the renowned NFL icon and sports analyst, is contemplating asking for a pay hike at FOX Sports after comparing his earnings with Tom Brady’s staggering new contract. On the To The Point-Home Services Podcast in early July, Bradshaw reflected on his illustrious career trajectory, his venture into horse racing, and also touched upon the historic viewership numbers of Super Bowl LVIII.
Brady joined FOX a year after he retired, inking a lucrative contract worth $37 million per year for ten years. His start to life in the booth was touch-and-go as he was accused of being too cautious with his punditry. But he slowly grew into the role, despite Dave Portnoy’s criticizm of his Super Bowl coverage.
While bantering about the network’s financials, Bradshaw quipped about FOX’s tight purse strings despite Brady’s $375 million deal. “Did you see the numbers they did?” Bradshaw queried. “The largest Super Bowl in history. 126 million people. There are 330 million people in America. That is a ton. The FOX pregame show averaged 28 million for five hours. Who will sit around and watch that mess for five hours? 28 million.
“You know how much money they made? God. More money than plumbers, I can assure you that,” he joked. “And I guarantee you, if I go in there and ask for a raise, ‘Well, we don’t have any…we’re running a little tight.’ Well, you just paid Tom Brady $37 million a year. I’ll take it. I did some bad deals, that’s what it was.”
Although Bradshaw did not officially disclose his salary at FOX Sports, it’s widely reported that he bags approximately $2 million a year — a fraction of Brady’s annual $37.5 million from his 10-year agreement struck in 2022 prior to his retirement as an active player.
Brady made his debut as a game analyst in 2024, taking the lead role in the broadcast booth. In 1981, Bradshaw was reportedly the second-highest paid quarterback in the NFL, signing a $470,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers after earning $329,000 the previous season.
In contrast, Brady surpassed that amount by his second year in the league. He amassed over $332 million in NFL salary, including $235 million with the Patriots and nearly $100 million during his time with the Buccaneers.
Brady’s earnings from broadcasting alone are already projected to surpass Bradshaw’s reported net worth of $45 million. Brady is the face of the next generation of the NFL on FOX as its newest lead analyst.
He’s been teamed up with Kevin Burkhardt, Erin Andrews, and Tom Rinaldi during his first season as an analyst, but he hasn’t been immune to criticism for his broadcast style online.
