It was a late-arriving announcement in 2024 that The Elder Scrolls Online would blow up its content cadence and suddenly stop providing nearly as much content, but this announcement did not exactly fill any of us with comfort about the future of the title. I think literally every writer here would love to be wrong with our predictions about what 2025 is going to bring for it. We probably aren’t wrong about it, because that would involve a staggering break from a pattern that has been well-established for years, but we’d all like to be wrong.
The thing about making predictions is that “prediction” is not synonymous with “thing you want to happen.” (Or at least it shouldn’t be; that’s not a prediction but a wish.) We all make predictions that we think will turn out wrong, even ones we hope we’ll be wrong about. So what would you really like to be wrong about in the MMO space in 2025?
