- Call of Duty: Mobile’s season 8 is here with the Shadow Operatives
- New ‘anti-heroic’ skins and store additions are being included
- There’s also the new map Combine making the jump from Black Ops: III
Call of Duty: Mobile is getting gloomy with the introduction of new anti-heroic operators in season eight: Shadow Operatives. There are new additions to the store, new challenges and a new map in this handheld adaptation of the super-popular shooter franchise. So what’s included? Let’s take a look.
The biggest addition is of course a suite of new ‘anti-hero’ operator skins, tied to the premium pass. With names like Samael – Techno Thug, you can be sure you’re getting something decidedly shadowy. They come alongside the introduction of the first mythic shotgun with the JAK-12, and a space gorilla (no, I’m not kidding).
As for the new map, Combine is introduced from Black Ops: III, and has a decidedly vertical feel as you duke it out between two main buildings out in the Sahara desert, dodging fire from ledges up above. You can find a breakdown of all the myriad additions over on the official Call of Duty blog!
Shooty shooty bang-bang
Breaking down the new Call of Duty stuff is always confusing to me. I wouldn’t exactly call myself an old-school player, but things have definitely changed since the days of the original Black Ops and World at War. Still, for those of you who like collectibles, there’s definitely plenty in this new season, plus the addition of a new map to mix up the rotation a bit more.
But as always, Call of Duty Warzone Mobile continues to lurk in the background. And I’m definitely of the feeling it’ll slowly begin to eclipse the regular CoD Mobile.
