There was a sequence in the Spurs’ 117-105 win over playoff-contending Indiana on Sunday night when a pair of Pacers big men took turns aggressively muscling up against Victor Wembanyama as he made his way through the paint. Coach Gregg Popovich naturally flew into a rage at the nearest official. Wembanyama? In yet another example of his stoic never-let-them-see-you-sweat approach to the game and lead-by-example style, he chose not to react. “Every team needs people they can rely on,” he said. “Sometimes it’s the coach or the players. For me, there’s no way to lose my composure or send that kind of image to my teammates. Even when I miss, I don’t shake my head. I don’t send any bad messages to my teammates.
