Victor Wembanyama surprises teen at neighborhood court, challenges him to H.O.R.S.E.

Miller Borushko was shooting hoops by himself at his North Side neighborhood basketball court when he got incredibly lucky. Spurs star Victor Wembanyama walked up and asked if he could join in. “He walked up and asked my name. I said, ‘I’m Miller.’ And he was like, ‘I’m Victor,” Miller told KSAT. “I tried to stay chill about it.” Then Wembanyama asked Miller if he wanted to play a game of H.O.R.S.E., which was captured on a neighborhood surveillance camera. “Wemby won,” laughed Miller. “He won on a left-handed three-pointer.” To Miller’s credit, he said he earned an H and an O in the game. “He could have easily just dunked and won the game, but he didn’t do that,” Miller added. “He just wanted to have fun.”

More on this storyline

ESI: How unique of a player is Wemby? Dominique Wilkins: “To be 7-foot-3 and to handle the basketball, shoot the 3, get to the basket, he’s a once-in-a-lifetime type of talent. But I’ll tell you who he is in today’s game: he’s Ralph Sampson. Ralph Sampson had all those same skills, but he wasn’t permitted to take 3s. Coaches weren’t allowing the big guys to take 3s back then. Ralph could shoot with range, run the floor, post up, block shots, do it all until his knees went bad. That’s who Wemby is, Ralph Sampson.” -via Esports Insider / June 2, 2025
