Paradox’s grand strategy game Victoria 3 is getting a brand new Immersion Pack DLC next month in the form of Pivot of Empire, which will focus on the Indian subcontinent.
As outlined in Paradox’s Steam announcement, the DLC, which launches on November 21st, will bring new narrative for Indian nations, the East India Company, and the Sikh Empire, plus more. It’ll be on around the same scale as previous Immersion Packs like Voice of the People.
If you’re interested, the title of the DLC comes from a quote by former Viceroy of India Victor Bruce, who described India as the titular “pivot of our Empire”, lamenting that “if [the British Empire loses] India, the sun of our Empire will have set”.
The DLC will feature new journal entries and events for the various factions and nations outlined above, as well as new historical content including the Indian Uprising and “various historical social and political movements”.
You can also look forward to new Harvest and Famines mechanics, which will allow you to “secure India’s food supply” and take “advantage of the unique events and narrative content”, as well as a new art style with a brand new map inspired by Indian culture.
While this DLC isn’t on the same level as the likes of Sphere of Influence, it should still be a pretty substantial addition to what is already a frankly massive grand strategy game.
The new DLC pack will arrive alongside the free 1.8 update, which is set to bring various improvements to Victoria 3 including new national and religious movements, company building ownership, the Indian caste system, and more.
Victoria 3 is available right now on PC via Steam. The Pivot of Empire Immersion Pack launches alongside update 1.8 and will set you back $9.99 if you’re interested in buying it.
