Jakai Newton hopes to make his Indiana basketball debut this season.
The redshirt freshman guard sat out last season while recovering from a knee injury. At last month’s IU basketball media day in Bloomington, Newton said he will be ready to play this season.
The 6-foot-3 combo guard was ranked as the 118th best player in the country out of high school, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
