All signs are pointing to the Tennessee Titans selecting Cam Ward with the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after a stellar senior season at the University of Miami.
The team was once hailed to be targeting Shadeur Sanders but ultimately are ready to take the Miami man who won the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl. Ward’s transfer to Florida brought him closer to his longtime girlfriend Nailah Landon, who is believed to be working as a marketing coordinator for the Miami Marlins.
The pair met while they were both at Incarnate Ward in San Antonio, Texas (UIW). Ward was a freshman on the football team while Landon played for the school’s volleyball team.
After a single season, Ward jumped for a bigger program and joined Washington State. He transfered to Miami ahead of the 2024 season, a histroic one that saw him capture the Davey O’Brien trophy, given to the best player in the nation.
Landon transfered to Incarnate Ward after starting her collegiate volleyball career at Barry University. She graduated UIW will a degree in communications and media studies; Ward and Landon in the third slide in the Instagram post below.
“UIW is a faith-driven university that gives back in all the ways it can,” she said in a service spotlight Q&A on the University’s website. “That was very important to me because coming from Chicago, there are many people who don’t have enough.”
“Because of that, it has allowed me to enjoy giving back to the community. Service was important to me in choosing a university because of the contributions it gives to communities far and near.”
The Titans are not expected to trade the first pick in Thursday’s NFL Draft, with general manager Mike Borgonzi telling reporters the team has “come to a consensus.”
After winning the Davey O’Brien trophy, the Miami quarterback was extremely confident he should be drafted early. “You’re either going to draft me or you’re not,” Ward told The Associated Press. “If you don’t draft me, that’s your fault. You’ve got to remember you’re the same team that’s got to play me for the rest of my career, and I’ll remember that.”

While at Incarnate Ward, Ward was named the 2021 SLC Offensive Player of the Year and captured the 2020 Jerry Rice Award (given to the best freshman in the FCS).
