World of Tanks Blitz is set to get a makeover! And no, this isn’t a collaboration, or a crossover or any temporary cosmetic buff. The upcoming Reforged update brings the hit tank combat simulator over to the Unreal 5 Engine, with all the graphical polish and additions that entails.
The update will first get into the hands of players when tests begin on January 24th, participants will get a look at revamped commanders, maps and revitalised graphics that make the five-year-old release look like it came out yesterday! Don’t worry if you miss out, because as you’d expect with an update of this magnitude there’ll be plenty of test periods taking place over the coming weeks.
World of Tanks Blitz’s Reforged update also promises updated physics and other technical improvements that are sure to bring this hit spin-off in line with its mainline cousin. You can sign up for an exclusive first look at the upcoming Reforged update over on the newly-released official website!

Blitz play
I can see the move to UE5 being a mixed blessing for World of Tanks Blitz. On the one hand, you obviously have definite improvements to graphical quality, but on the other that could come at the cost of a performance hit for those of you with lower-end devices.
Still, I feel like there’s less of a risk of the latter, given that WoT Blitz is already cross-platform and the devs would likely know they need to account for users on both higher and lower-powered devices. Whether or not the graphical boost makes up for these teething issues is another question entirely of course.
