The Wranglers jumped out to an early lead, with AHL scoring leader Kerins netting the first goal of the game at 6:20 in the first period. Bishop then doubled that lead just 39 seconds later. Duehr added a third goal for the Wranglers in the final minute of the first period on the power play.
At 10:02 in the second period, Cal Burke dumped it into Gage Quinney on a race to the crease. Quinney found the back of the net for his first goal of the season, cutting the deficit to 3-1. A minute later the Wranglers got it right back with a powerplay goal from Kerins.
The Silver Knights narrowed the Wranglers’ lead to 4-2 on Grigori Denisenko’s first goal of the campaign at 9:47 in the third. Jonas Rondbjerg found Tanner Laczynski on the wing who wrapped it behind the net and centered it for a Denisenko one-timer. At 15:04 in the final frame, Quinney got ahead on a breakaway and whipped it tape-to-tape to Burk, who beat the goalie to the far post for a tap-in. Robert Hägg also picked up an assist on the play. In the dying seconds, Bishop put home an empty netter to seal the Wranglers’ 5-3 victory.
