Xenopuck Off-Ice Training Puck – Hockey World Blog

With another offseason fast approaching, it would be a great time to learn about a tool to take your training to the next level. The Xenopuck off-ice training puck could do exactly that, but let’s dive a little deeper and see what makes this puck so unique and special.

The Xenopuck is an off-ice training puck that is designed to slide on any surface. making it a great companion for your summer workouts. The company designed the Xenopuck to slide effectively on concrete, asphalt, carpet, and other surfaces. Coming in at a weight of 6oz, the Xenopuck is designed to feel just like a standard puck on an ice surface.

From my own experience, other pucks designed for off-ice training have a tendency to wear down quickly. Specifically, any roller hockey pucks that I have used outdoors do not match the weight of an ice puck and tend to need replacing after only a few uses on a concrete surface. The Xenopuck was engineered to be more durable than other options, and is made in the USA to boot.

Beyond using the Xenopuck for off-ice training drills and stick handling, you can also use the Xenopuck for shooting thanks to its durability. However, you should shoot with caution as it can ricochet off the post at a very high velocity and potentially cause injury. It would also be a good idea to avoid playing an actual roller hockey game with the puck as it is incredibly hard.

We have a couple of Xenopucks in our possession thanks for the folks at Xenopucks and will be putting them through their paces in the coming weeks. Check back soon for an honest review of our experience with the Xenopucks off-ice training pucks.
